MyBabes AI vs OurDream: Separate Character Identity from the First Scene

A reusable fictional character brief, mapped to MyBabes fields and OurDream’s public creator without assuming identical controls.

The first scene is temporary. A character’s identity should survive it. When the two are mixed into a single prompt, a line such as “waiting nervously at the station” can become an unintended permanent personality trait.

MyBabes and OurDream both offer custom character routes, but their public pages organize the choices differently. This comparison uses a fictional adult botanist, Iris, to make the distinction useful.

Write two briefs, then map the fields

Here is a complete starter record that can be adapted manually. It is an editorial example, not an exported file format supported by either service.

Identity record Scene record
Iris, a 34-year-old fictional botanist Preparing an evening greenhouse tour
Curious, precise and quietly humorous A visitor asks why one flower opens late
Explains a single observation before asking a question Show the greenhouse bench and one plant
Short sentences, no claims about the user’s real life Warm work lights; medium view
Dark bob, green work jacket The jacket stays the same for this sequence

The identity column answers “who keeps returning?” The scene column answers “what happens now?” Save both in your own notes before entering the service. That creates a recoverable brief if you later change platforms or revise a scene.

The MyBabes builder publicly shows a name, bio and first greeting; its guide also describes personality and an example conversation. Put Iris’s role and speech rule in the character description. Use the greeting to begin the tour, rather than cramming an entire future plot into it.

OurDream’s creator offers style and appearance choices alongside personality, voice, occupation and relationship selections, with custom-description options shown for some fields. Choose the closest controls deliberately. The creator FAQ places custom prompting beyond the presets behind Premium; a visible example of a custom field does not mean every free account can use it. A voice choice concerns delivery; a personality label should not be used as a substitute for a concrete dialogue instruction.

A greeting can expose a contradiction early

A useful opening for this example is:

“The evening flower is beginning to open. Would you like to look at its petals or compare it with the daytime bloom?”

This line demonstrates Iris’s subject, concise style and habit of offering a focused question. An opening that contains a page of narration would contradict the intended short responses before the conversation even starts.

If a preset personality says “outgoing” while the written brief says “never initiates,” resolve that conflict in the brief. Do not assume that either product’s model will choose the intended interpretation. MyBabes’ marketing uses strong language about preventing contradictions; that is not a verified guarantee of every response.

For the first image, request only the current scene. Adding three future locations and two alternate outfits makes it harder to decide why a result missed the brief. A stable first image is useful evidence for the next scene, but one correct picture still cannot prove repeatable identity.

Budget setup separately from revisions

OurDream’s coin-cost help article, dated March 2, 2026, assumes a paid subscriber and lists character creation at 10 dreamcoins with the first two images included. Its creator FAQ separately markets a 55-coin free trial and up to ten characters. Those are differently scoped statements, not an explicit current five-coin unit quote. Use the entitlement and action quote that apply to your account; do not count the included images again as a separate setup batch.

The practical result is still clear without a universal price ranking: finish the identity record before requesting repeated profile images. A change to Iris’s coat is a visual revision; a change from precise botanist to theatrical storyteller is a character revision. Record which kind of change you are making so a useful scene is not discarded while fixing the wrong layer.

MyBabes offers more explicit written guidance for example dialogue in the sources reviewed. OurDream makes a broad set of character choices visible in its public creator. This review did not submit either creation flow, test a paid custom field or compare generated portraits.

Sources and scope

This comparison separates documented capabilities from editorial interpretation. Source access and any limitations are described in the article; a suggested evaluation is not a claim of completed testing.
